Even before lockdown I spent a lot of time watching movies. I get attached to characters, goose bumps at trailers and want to share some of my favourite movies with you. My favourite movies are normally ones I can watch over and over without getting bored and I feel like we are all doing exactly that during lockdown.
The Wolf of Wall Street
The Wolf of Wall Street is probably my favourite movie. I can watch this movie everyday and not get bored. It includes everything that I love in film. It’s based on a true story, has comedy, gets serious at times, is fast paced and stars the dream team Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie. Leo should have definitely won an Oscar for his portrayal of Jordan Belfort, especially for how well he played someone on multiple types of drugs.
Back to the Future
I first watched this movie when I was really young and loved it. I have always loved it. It’s an absolute classic and I normally watch all three movies when I am hungover. Now, I know the last movie isn’t the best in the world but the first two are so much fun. I was definitely convinced we would have flying cars by 2015 like in the movie.
Everyone loves Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody is a biopic about the life of Freddie Mercury. The movie has some great fun scenes and some sad ones showing Queens rise to fame and the troubles that came along with it. I went to see this movie at the cinema and it is the only one I have ever seen where the audience started clapping at the end.
The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby has always been my favourite book and the movie version didn’t disappoint me. Everything was how I would imagine it and Leonardo is an amazing Jay Gatsby. I enjoyed everything about the story and how they kept the movie in the perspective of Nick.
Jurassic Park is a classic, all five movies are great even if some aren’t as loved at the first. This is another series of movies I will watch if I’m hungover or sick, I couldn’t tell you how many times I have seen them. A series of films based on the return of dinosaurs that now live in and eventually escape a zoo, what’s not to love?
I love horror movies, I have so many favourites but my all-time favourites are the Scream movies. I know a lot of people say they are cheesy and not scary but I think they are brilliant. I find them scary because a serial killer (or killers) who has a specific vendetta is totally believable and could happen. The movies that follow the original all reveal the killers to be copycats with their own agendas as well, making this a series that could never end if they didn’t want it too. I watch them every year around Halloween and never get bored of them.
So, those are some of my favourite movies. I am still in lockdown and haven’t left the house even though rules have been relaxed so I definitely have spent a lot time watching Movies and TV series. I might do a post in the future where I talk about more movies I love and recommend some TV shows to watch.
