Life in Lockdown

Happy lockdown everyone! I have been self-isolating for 11 days now and so I thought I would try my hand at blogging. I have always wanted to do something like this but have been too nervous about what people would think but I’ve finally convinced myself (with some help from my sister) to just go for it! So, this is my first post and I’ve spent a long time trying to decided what it should be about. In the end, I’ve decided to write about what’s going on in the world right now and give advice for people struggling with entertainment during this lockdown.

During the first week of my self-isolation, I had food poisoning so it wasn’t particularly hard to stay in bed and not go outside. Once I got better though I found myself getting very bored, eating way too much and letting my routine go to hell. I think it is important during all of this to make sure your life either stays as close to the same as possible or improves in some way, so because of this I have decided to give myself a routine that I follow everyday along with tasks I’ve been putting off, hobbies and starting this blog. I haven’t found it hard to stay inside now I have this structure to my life and I suppose it also helps that I was a massive introvert before all of this. So, my biggest piece of advice for everyone is to make a routine, it has helped me keep my days productive and stop getting bored. You should obviously keep up with your skin care, hygiene and eating habits but in place of going to work or hanging out with friends you should add other things you have always wanted to do but haven’t had the time. It may be hard to think about what these things should be but I guarantee there are so many things you could be doing that isn’t just scrolling through social media.

I know having to stay inside is hard and boring but it is important. Our country and the people in it depend on everyone not being selfish, so do your part and stay home. Remember to only leave the house for one form of exercise, to shop for essentials, for medical reasons or for work. if you are leaving the house to shop then remember to please be kind to retail workers, they would rather be at home as well.
